Advocacy and Public Relations
PC Public Affairs was charged with developing a strong statewide network of stakeholder and media support for a major national defense contractor’s ongoing program, with the end goal of convincing New York’s congressional delegation to protect the program from threatened cuts at the national level. Surprisingly, few people across the state were aware of the significant economic impact of the program.
PC Public Affairs developed a media and grassroots strategy, fine-tuned the client’s message and identified advocates to increase support for the program. We worked with community leaders and various stakeholders to build an active and diverse network of supporters who advocated for the program via earned media and direct advocacy. Drafted Op-Eds and Letters to the Editor for placement in major publications throughout New York State.
Our media and advocacy efforts motivated several congressional targets to fully support the program which ultimately protected thousands of New York jobs and led the client to move more jobs to New York State.
